You don’t need a new year to start fresh — you just need a decision.
On Friday 7 November I started something that has now become my new normal. It wasn’t a special date — just the end of an ordinary week — but a thought that had been sitting in the back of my mind finally turned into action. Since making the change, I’ve noticed real benefits in my energy, body and mindset. And it hasn’t been a solo endeavour; accountability and support have made a big difference.
The ‘what’ of my change isn’t the important part — the ‘when’ is.
You don’t have to wait for a new month or a new year to begin the things you know will help you feel better.
This time of year brings so many mixed emotions: end-of-year fatigue, extra responsibilities, deadlines, expectations around Christmas, pressure to keep up, pressure to feel a certain way. There are always good reasons to delay taking care of your own wellbeing.
On top of that, we all know how many New Year’s resolutions fade quickly. It doesn’t mean you’re doomed to fail, what it does mean is that behaviour change is hard, it’s normal to over-estimate capabilities and the goals are often not achievable without support.
Imagine taking control of one thing that would positively shift how you feel… and actually sticking with it.
If you’ve been thinking about making a change but haven’t quite found your footing, you’re not alone. And if having someone in your corner would help you build momentum, that’s the work I love. I support people to turn intentions into sustainable habits, one step at a time.
If you’re curious about what that might look like for you, feel free to reach out. There’s no perfect time — only the moment you decide to begin.
